It's time for a beater Thread
Since we had a stunner thread, How about a beater thread

Re: It's time for a beater Thread
This is a recent favorite. Got it without ever seeing a scan of the back, at a very beater price...when it arrived in the mail I was grumbling about the cracked slab (which happened in transit) and didn't at first notice the TTT back. When you're used to always overpaying for cards it's nice to get a little something extra for almost nothing every now and again.

Re: It's time for a beater Thread
the last few posts restored my faith in the word "beater"....jerry's n173 and ray's t204 are not beaters!

In the interest of board harmony and the consistent visual attributes of beaters everywhere, I'm going to go home tonight and chew off a corner of that Coakley for you, Quan.

Re: It's time for a beater Thread
I think this thread needs to be expanded to encompass stunning beaters and more or less beat up stunners.

Re: It's time for a beater Thread
I am an eye-appeal kind of guy and beaters generally run counter to that. That notwithstanding I have my share of dogs. I am trying to assemble a run of T206 backs - just the basic brands - and was able to check off the Broadleaf for very little money with this funhouse Marquard.
I'm also picking away at a low-grade E97 set. The Sullivan is a toughie for whatever reason. I had seen a few at over a grand apiece but didn't want to spend big bucks on a common player. This bit of roadkill showed up on eBay a few months ago and I nabbed it for like 28 bucks. I wish that would happen more often.

Beaters seem to be my specialty. I'll take them how I can get them.

Re: It's time for a beater Thread
Hey there All,
It's been a while since I've posted, but this thread fits me and I just happened to come back around while it was at the top of the list.
Here is one of my beaters:
Thanks,
AndyH
