Hi Tony - thanks! Yes, a bit of Ebay + some B&L + a little shopping at the 3-2 Count makes for a busy pick-up month, for sure.

Re: April Pickups
Picked up this neat Tolstoi "label." I believe it to be from the top of a carton of tolstoi cigarette boxes but will know more when it arrives. As some may be aware, the cigarette boxes that housed our T206 and other cards were usually shipped in cartons of 10 or 20 packs. I have never seen or heard of a Tolstoi carton before, but this piece is the same "brand" as the T206 Tolstoi (see the pack below for reference) and seems to indicate Tolstois were shipped in cartons of 20 packs. Tolstoi didn't make it out of the 1910s so I would approximate this to the 1910-1915 era.

Hmmmmm - excellent question. Probably at present a Ruth "rookie" (not Baltimore, but Boston). I have no Ruth card with Boston in my collection yet. But I have never spent that kind of money on a single card...so I'm working up to it!

Re: April Pickups
would you take a ruth in boston uniform but yankees caption? those caramels would probably set you back around 2k+ and cheaper than the sporting news.

I added one more to my Goudey HOF set (now at 48% complete). I wish all 6s looked like this one.

Not quite as nice as a couple of your 3s though, Tony!

Good thought...but I decided that for my collection the cards would be only those where the player was listed as Boston.
(To Brian: that Haines is an amazing "6"...looks way better!)

Hi Brian,
If your response was to me, I believe E107 Willis is a Boston NL card (I only collect AL). But I need the Cy Young...gotta save some pennies for that one!!!

Hi Blair,
You might have some competition for that one (Young 107) down the road . Love that card and high on my list.
