I really enjoyed Jay's thread of the Top Ten Vintage Cards of All-Time. I thought another interesting thread, that would lead to more diverse opinions, would be this one, so here are mine! bow

1) T206 Uzit Cobb Bat Off Shoulder
2) E90-1 Joe Jackson Rookie
3) E92 Magee (great leaping pose with SUPER background colors!)
4) TIE E92 Mathewson (great looking background on a horizontal card!) and E92 Lajoie (great looking background on this one as well)
5) T3 Cobb (this card is more of a work of art than a Baseball Card!)
6) E98/E93/E94 Ty Cobb (great leaping pose - looks really nice with red background or the E93 orange)
7) E92 Dooin (Another card with super background colors!)
8) 1910 Obak Hetling (Super background on this card - pink colors with, of all things, a windmill in the background!)
9) E92 Jacklitsch (another of my favorites due to the super background colors)
10) TIE - Ty Cobb with a Ty Cobb back and T210 Jackson - Super looking cards I have always wanted. In fact, of all the cards I have always wanted to own, these are the only two I have never owned that I wanted! drool frustrated No pale angry2

YOUR TOP TEN VINTAGE CARDS. Hetlin10

Portait cards have always been higher and more popular than cards with action shots or ones with super nice backgrounds. I hope this trend continues, as I am elated to have cards with awesome backgrounds like this Hetling! jocolor

Just a little clarification before I post mine. How does this list differ from Jay's? Is this list based on aesthetics? Or "importance" to us? Or both? Do we have to own the cards on this list?

Jay's was more or less what you consider the Top Ten cards in the Hobby to be. This list is simply YOUR top ten - could be any player - regardless of "Hobby Importance". bananarama

Also, no - you don't have to own the cards on the list. These are simply YOUR FAVORITE VINTAGE CARDS. righton

My top 10 cards are players who had a good, interesting day or days in an otherwise quite forgetful career. Since they each require an explanation, I will keep my list short. These are all cards which I have, but most are readilly available.

#1 Pat Seerey, Leaf
Pat was a player who thought he was the Bambino every time he strode to bat.
But he wasn't. He struck out 25% of the time, once hit over 20 HRs, and was typically in the double digits, with triple digit Ks in about 400AB.
One day he shined ! That day he joined Gehrig, Klein, Delahanty, Hodges and others with 4 HRs in a game.

#2 Johnnie Burnett, R314D
Burnett really did not have much of a career. He only made it on to this one baseball card (other than a Conlon), but he did what no one else has approached - 9 hits in a game !
Yes, yes, of course it was extra innings; but it is still nine hits !

#3 Charlie Pick, Zeenut
Charlie was just the opposite of Johnnie Burnett above.
And we all know that in the Oescheger/Cadore 26 inning marathon, somebody had to set the record for single game batting futility.
Well Charlie is that man ! He went 0-11 in that game.
I know that he hit into one DP, maybe more.

#4 Ernie Shore, Indianapolis Brewing (e - somethinorother, whogivesahoot or what catagory do breweries really belong in?)
Ernie pitched a perfect + game in relief.
He came on after the starter, Ruth, was thrown out for arguing a walk to the first batter.
Had the runner erased in a failed steal attempt.
Then retired the 26 batters he faced.
Faced 26, retired 27, and I don't think that he got credit for a perfecto, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for your time. This stuff is what I like best about my card assembly.
