I'll be walking the floor Saturday. Looking forward to seeing some old friends again and meeting face to face many in the hobby who I know only through the internet.

I wish I could go to one of these. If I still lived in Wisconsin, I'd be going this year. It would be great to actually meet some of you in person.

been to one but i wish the Nationals were closer to the East coast. I heard it was not cost effective to have it in NY or Boston. Maybe someday....

Did you go to the one in Atlantic City a few years back? That was a blast, plus all-you-can-eat prime rib buffets!

it must have been 3-4 years ago or more because i have been collecting Vintage cards for almost 3 years. I would take a ride to Atlantic City if it were there again.

I've only been to 2 of them, early 90's I think. They had one in Houston and one in Dallas.

I had to buy a new computer and scanner, there goes an E95 Lajoie.

Ben, Chicago's hotels are pretty cheap. On the National page one hotel near the show was $79. Day's Inn had a AAA rate of $59 and includes breakfast and airport transportation.

I've just found out I'll be attending Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, but unfortunately I've been unable to convince any of the locals to head out there with me.

I expect I'll be walking around aimlessly by myself and dining alone on room service, so let me know if anyone here is getting together, even if it's just to walk the floor together.

I am coordinating a dinner get-together for vintage sports (ALL sports) cards & memorabilia collectors/dealers for Friday evening, August 1 at about 6 pm (immediately after the National ends) at Shoeless Joe’s restaurant in Rosemont, Illinois. Here is their website:

The restaurant is very convenient (about 2 miles) from the National. I believe there are free shuttles that go there for those that don’t have cars. Absolutely anyone and everyone is invited (including spouses, children, etc,…) !!! Everyone will pay their own bill for what they eat/drink.
