surprised this card did not get bid up much higher....
If you click on the link below you will find a E104-1 Eddie Collins SGC 30 that did not hit reserve price. The seller tried a buy-it-now auction a few weeks ago with a price of $3,000 and then he went to an auction style with a reserve and it only got bid up to $885.... He states that a SGC 20 sold for almost $2,000 in Hunt 2007 and i did check it out and he is correct.
any thought on why it did not go higher?

Really nice looking card, I would have thought with the overprint it would ended higher. I imagine the reserve is around $2000+ and with all the major auctions running right now it was passed up.

mark the seller is being too unrealistic with his appraisal of the card. the collins in that condition with the OP back would be around 1k i'm guessing...but the reserve prolly affected the final price.
i was the high bid of the sgc20 collins he mentioned in hunt. what he neglected to say (or didn't realize) was the VG collins had the SWIFT stamp on back that (stupid) SGC dinged to a 20...so the card is much more valuable than his 30. i will refrain from bashing sgc for their random assessment of stamped backs...toy town/swift etc.
p.s. i'm surprised it went up to $885 even with a reserve...i was expecting $500-$600.

Quan...
that makes sense....the seller probably did not know that. But...i would think VCP would have listed that next to the sale

the collins card looks VG and i cracked it out and psa gave it the 3mk it deserves. so really it's an sgc40 with the SWIFT stamping...which if i'm not mistaken is only found on e104 a's team with the "world's champions" OP and blank backs.
