N172 Count Tony Mullane SOLD

N172 "Count" Tony Mullane for sale. Condition is well represented in the scan. Card has a decent image with a crease in the top right area and some glue stains on the back. Mullane was a great pitcher in his day and many consider him to be a potential future addition to the HOF. His career stats surely attest to that fact (284 career wins, 3.05 lifetime ERA, 5 consecutive 30+ win seasons).

You sell this guy short, Ben.
He was on the cutting edge of the continuing revolt against the Reserve Clause. Being threatened with banishment in 1884 for jumping to the Union Assoc., he suceeded in getting suspended for the entire following year (which no doubt cost him the 300 win club). He had strung together 5 consecutive 30+ win seasons. This pitcher used either hand to pitch. Wearing no glove, he would throw with whichever seemed right. Very interesting player. I'm sure there is way more to him.
