Re: June Pick-Up's
Just picked up every Topps Twins team set from 1980-2014 for less than $2 each. Now the quest for 1961-79 sets begins. Those high number 61s are going to be a serious pain in the ass.

Ive started collecting Red Sox Team cards from 1956 to 1980. Its not difficult with the exception of the 1967 team card (The Impossible Dream year) I cant imagine putting together the entire team in cards like you are doing Jay.

Always preferred Coupons over t206s. Mainly because of the Federal League players, but also really like series with the blue font

Vintage tickets for any sports event in central Washington are pretty rare. I have only a few, picked up these tix from the July 6, 1952 sprint car/outlaw race near Twisp, Washington. The town of Twisp is very small, maybe 250. This event lasted two years (1952-53) before founder Jimmy Collier opened Evergreen Speedway in Monroe (1954).
The Methow Valley race was held at a place now known as Indian Racetrack Trail, a hike near Red Mountain, Northern Cascades. The area is very remote, the "racetrack" was once used as a gathering place for the Yakama and Clickitat nations well into the early 1900's to host sports. Many claim this tradition lives on as the Omak Stampede & Suicide Race. Photo from the top of Red Mountain Lookout, Mt. St. Helens to left, Mt. Rainier to the right. Racetrack out of frame, at base of mountain.

Lucas, you are the real winner - as they say "slow and steady wins the race". Congrats on being the tortoise - I am more like the hare, always hopping on the next exciting card. How many cards are left?

A good month for local vintage auto racing memorabilia. A photo of 1936 Yakima Fairgrounds Speedway Time Trial with Unknown Driver. Inscribed on the picture is "Old Death Car". The second is a Pit Pass from an event at YFS circa 1929-36. These items were purchased from different sellers but go well together.

Cool photo. That really does look like the Old Death Car.

Re: June Pick-Up's
There were a lot of jalopies on the track in central Washington. A couple interesting things about the photo; Safety was nonexistent, but it looks like this driver has got his hands on a US military issue helmet. Not sure if that is grease or some type of epoxy holding the left rear wheel on.
