Here's an article on Hart's brief career. 565 miles covered in six days is just crazy, even by today's ultra-marathoner standards. Did not know he also played baseball in Chicago....

Hart played baseball at Saratoga Springs, covering shortstop and third base for the Leonidas Base Ball Club. He also played for Boston's Vendome Hotel's team of colored waiters
