NET54 needs us fellow patrons! Let's get this board up and running so that the good NET has a little competition.

NET54 will always be the dominator like PSA but PSA needs SGC and NET54 needs us!

Our friends at NET54 may not like us at first but they will realize a little friendly competition is good for everyone!

Thanks Dan. You are correct, all it takes is to get about a dozen of us posting on a regular basis to get the board really rolling. We do really well on the search engines, usually showing up ahead of the guys across the street. The low activity probably makes a lot people think they can't get their questions answered, which isn't true. The people here are just as knowledgeable, with many of the top experts checking both boards. New registered users has been very consistent. We just need to get them to post too ;-)

A major benefit of this board is that you do not have to be screened by me or any other moderator. We do run a tight ship and will not tolerate anonymous personal attacks, which hasn't been a problem. The board is 6 years old and other than spammers, we have only had to ban 2 people. We are a very civil group that loves our baseball collections.

I will put our expertise up against anyone, any day!

Look at the numbers: 180,000 members on NET54 (70,000 active) & 700 members on Full Count (maybe 200 active). This is not Coke v. Pepsi, not even Coke versus New Coke. Both forums offer unique opportunities to showcase collections.

Do I prefer one, over the other? I absolutely prefer the "small town" feel of this site as to the mania across the street, and frequent Full Count far more often. Here are my reasons: (1) No damn banner ads, (2) Threads on t206's are succinct and not congestive, (3) great finds in the past few years have been featured here first, (4) unique collections, and (5) no BullSh!t!!! Not to disparage a "rival" site but many collectors on Net54 seem to be void of sportsmanship (if such a thing exists in card collecting).

Your number 5 is my favorite! No comparison with that one.

I thought NET54 had 5000 active members?

When I broke out my collection here, I had looked over NET54, and I am also a regular visitor/poster there, but this was so clearly the place to be for real practical advice on what I had, and what to do with it. After spending some time here, I did post some things on NET54, and was immediately overrun by PMs pressuring me to sell for "whatever I thought was fair". Not knocking the Net, as long as you know what it is, it has its place, and always will, and I ran into some very good guys there. I just prefer the smaller group of folks here at Full Count. FWIW, I did not learn anything on NET 54 that the folks here at Full Count had not already told me.

The Net is a little more entertaining if you like drama.

Yea Theo you can't hold the NET responsible for a few Vultures. Those types can reside anywhere.

There are a ton of good people on NET54.
