Pittsburgh's 10,000th win?
Great article about the stupidity of franchises not recognizing their early history.
100,000 wins
It has always annoyed me since I was a kid that the Twins do not recognize players or records set while the team was in Washington. The Giants got it right by honoring their greats from NY.

Really? 10,000th win? That's like 100 100 win seasons? Is this possible?

They were over 3,600 wins by 1930 (yes, I just did the math at baseball-reference.com, given the way I lack a life and all), so I'm guessing 10K is about right. Factor in all those good seaons in the late 50's, 60's, 70's, late 80's, and early 90's, balanced against the current streak of 20 straight years of bein' lousy. Sounds about right.
Three Rivers was the first stadium where I ever saw a Major League game. The place was a toilet, but it was a toilet with charm. And Clemente is still one of my all-time favorite players.
Congrats, Pittsburgh. Hope they manage an 82nd win this year.
