I Think This is Crossing The Line!!!!
We've discussed Helmar products before...I think they can be super cool...they usually depict seldom seem negro leaguers...and latin american players...and previously unseen poses on real card issues...but this one may be crossing the line.

Not a big fan - especially due to the aged / damaged appearance, but at least it does say "Helmar" on the back.

Certainly intrigued by these cards, especially the more obscure but talented players from another era and have been surprised at the achieved prices. The included writeup on many of these players is also great.
Can you help this newbie understand the following:
1. What did Helmar do on this card to be "crossing the line"?
2. When I look up Helmar on Ebay, are all the different and older series, such as the stamps, bottle caps, and cards from the turn of the 20th century the same Helmar?
3. You mention another discussion in another thread but cannot seem to find it, if you could help point me there.
Thanks!
Michael

I'm sure the OP will reply, but in the meantime I think the "crossing the line" was a reference to this fantasy card being a replica of an actual iconic card - the '33/34 Goudey Lajoie. Other Helmar fantasy pieces feature original art, even if done in the style of an old card. So there is no mistaking the card for an original...there never was an original that had that image.
This one has more in common with reprints/counterfeits.

Blair stated my thoughts exactly...and yes...all of those other items are the same manufacturer.
A search should help you find the other link...I can't remember the title. I like these items a lot as well...although I haven't and most likely will not purchase them.
