Damn Chris, where are you foraging for these Mendelsohns? I have been skunked for so long now I'm thinking of giving up the ghost

Re: November 2011
Found this one buried in a Kevin Savage auction a couple of weeks ago - it brings my grand total to a whopping 5!
The only other M101-6 I have seen for sale this year (outside of the large lot in the Legendary auction) was a Rogers Hornsby at the National and the seller wanted a ton for it. They are extremely tough to find, to be sure.

Very cool, Tony! Great, great companion piece. Now you just need a raw version of a polar bear backed card (with the tobacco staining) to complete the ensemble. That should be the easy part!

Re: November 2011
Anybody pick up anything in the Goodwin auction? It ended insanely late (near 6:30 AM on the east coast). I toughed it out and managed to pick up two E107s for my collection.
I've always wanted to have one of the Breisch-Williams overprints in my collection and I finally got the opportunity to add one. They're kinda tough to find. This one came on the back of a Kid Gleason card (of Black Sox scandal fame).
I was also pleased to add a beater of Bad Bill Dahlen. I picked him up since I think he has an outside shot of making the HOF one day via the veterans committee.

Re: November 2011
Love the Gleason, Brian!
I won a few lots in both Goodwin and Heritage last night, but I'm a bit superstitious about posting images before I have the cards in hand. So I'll wait on that.
The cards I got from Goodwin are mainly Red Sox types. The win I'm really stoked about from Heritage is the Brunner's Bread Frank Chance from Lionel Carter's collection.

There were some pretty good Boston type card options in Goodwin. Anxious to hear what you landed.

Dahlen is a great pick up. If the verterans committee ever pulls its head out of its ass he should be a shoe-in for the HOF. The guy was the SS the game had seen until Wagner came along.

Added 2 more w514's to the set; Bobby Veach SGC 60, & Oscar Stange (Stanage) SGC 80. Unfortunately the Stanage's holder cracked in route, thank goodness the card was not damaged but have to get it in a new holder soon. Added them to the SGC registry. Thank you again Chris!

Your collection is really coming along, thank you for posting the links on your signature, it's fun to see a different set. Maybe someday you'll decide to cross them all over to SGC in order to best present them.

I like the Dahlen pick-up, I see you've started going after the commons, too, good call.
Blair, you're single-handedly supporting the prices of the entire vintage baseball card market
