this guy must be nuts, who's going to buy it for a mil when it was bought originally for 92k and he got it for 64k? olbermann was the underbidder in both auctions and now the seller will graciously sell it to KO for 1mil...ha!

Silliness.
When the ball previously sold (twice) it was an important artifact of the so-called Curse of the Bambino.
Now, after two World Series wins in the last 8 years, Boston collectors - and baseball historians - should be less excited about this ball...not 10-15 times more excited.
A million dollars? Funny. Dreamin'. I couldn't care less about this ball anymore. (...Despite a funny appearance by Buckner on CYE!)

If the Merkle ball can't pull a mil then there is no way this one does. Sounds like someone wanting publicity and then hoping he will get an offer that will allow him to make a profit. Like Blair said, I doubt that ball pulls anything close to 6 figures the next time it is sold in auction.
