Re: WOW....$20,000 for this lot
I have been called worse then crazy I guess. I finished 3rd at just under $10K. There are 30+ cards there that look like they may have come off of candy boxes. There are 2 different sizes of them, mostly common players and about half of each size. I figured a front and back of a candy box which was fairly common for the era. 1910 Orange Borders and the J=K cards came that way. Also the cards were from 1913 exactly, as Maisel started in 1913 and Sheckard ended in 1913 and both were included. Blanding stopped playing in 1914 so they couldn't be later than 1914.
I would have had to work hard to squeeze money out of all of the cut of crapola but I figured it was worth it.
Oh well, water under the bridge and on to the next deal!

Now that is a true collector. Cool book but pretty rich for me. Dan obviously knows more about this stuff so it must have been in line. Did it say how many total cards there were?

That's around $12 a card, doesn't seem too out of line.

The Minos, Bishops and the Weaver jumped right out at me. Tough double whammy though with them being trimmed and glued into a scrapbook.

I'm very curious about those e-unc looking cards...I've never seen anything quite like them before. It's a much cooler piece if left alone...personally I hate trimmed cards!!!

I agree. It's much more impressive left as-is than if you destroyed the thing to piece it out.
Re: WOW....$20,000 for this lot
Excuse my ignorance...but how can/were the mino's identified so easily? Was it the team designations? I looked through the pics a few times...but still could not recognize mino's? And how do you know they're not kotton's...or VE's?

Typo/wrong name on my part. Should be Mono. I always confuse Mino and Mono. They are the B&W PCL cards. There are 6 or 8 of them together.
