Post a favorite...just because

In celebration of my new scanner, I'm posting a favorite card...guess it should go without saying that this is the first card scanned with the new scanner. Won't win a prize at the county fair (the scan), but not half bad and certainly better than I could do with the piece of junk I just threw away.

Actually, it's a great idea for a thread: pick a board member and have everyone post an awesome card that that person (the subject/board member) has had and sold over their collecting career. A card-based 'this is your life'...full of tears, regret, remorse, and maybe a couple of laughs.

I got a new scanner too. Here is one I've never shown here before. One of my favorites...

Nice clear scans, guys! You'll get a lot of use out of those new scanners. Here's a card I bought in a Steve Verkman auction in the 1990s, but just recently got back from SGC:

This is a special card since it was my first Wagner.

To add some 19th century flavor to the mix, here's a favorite from my collection:

I know I posted my new Flick not too long ago, but it seems sort of brand new again. The slab was pretty dinged up with scratches and areas of abrasion, so I got on ebay and bought some Novus #2 plastic polish...four bucks, shipped...and with a little elbow grease (or a lot in this case) it's looking pretty sweet. Highly recommend the Novus.

The borders on Walsh are pretty insane, aren't they? I've not had a ton of E90-1's to compare, but this one is far bigger than any others I've had.

And nice Hess! Everything about that card is great, from image to background, to fonts used and the placement of the type. I especially like the placement of the type in the top border. Just a cool card.

I'm thinking if I get it graded it might get a 5 or 6 with all the qualifiers.

Does PSA do negative grades?

Lee I think that is the only T3 I have ever seen that is morphing into a Leather.

I think it is morphing into smoked leather. I am hoping in a few years into might turn into jerky and I'll have a ready made snack. A real one of a kind.

Uh-oh. That sounds like a challenge, and I think it should go down at the national next year.
