I agree. It's just "meh" without Peckinpaugh.
But seriously, that is an amazingly tough accomplishment there. Of the ones you did acquire, which was the hardest to get? Any other stories about cards you passed on, only to get a second chance at? Any you passed at a price, only to pay higher later? Set collectors usually have the best stories.

Re: Show us your Teammates!
Chris - Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, I don't remember the last one I acquired or the hardest one to get. My memory is pathetic, and I have had these cards for several years. I'm pretty sure the last one was a common, perhaps Miller. Nor can I recall any good stories to tell about acquiring them (maybe there aren't any) - sorry. Actually, I'm not a set collector, except for a couple of exceptions like this. This set is meaningful to me because I have lived in the DC area all of my life and rooted for Washington ever since I was a kid in the 1950s. And, I think it is neat that a set was made that is comprised solely of the players who achieved Washington's only World Series triumph.

Re: Show us your Teammates!
Jeff, those two are awesome, I would love to own a Lincoln Plank someday. I didn't think the Legendary Lot had any HOFers beyond Mack and Bender - did you own that pair beforehand?
Re: Show us your Teammates!
yep - so now I have 14 of the 20 - all from the same original collection with the writing on front and identical postal name/address on back.
Plank / Waddell / Mack / Bender are the only 4 HOFers in the set so just need to find those 6 commons now.

You'll have to show them all together once the "new 12" arrive! Awesome pick up. I love that they all have the same period writing.

Am I the only one intimidated by Eddie Plank's gaze?

Damn, Jim. What a show off.
Can we dare you again to come up with 3 teammates with tough backs? (other than Baltimore or are you holding out on them?)
