N172 Player's League (PL) Cards
Hey guys, I have a few questions about the N172 Old Judge PL cards...
Can anyone fill me in on the scarcity/market value of N172 Player's League cards?
Are all Player's League cards marked with a "PL" on the card?
Is there a checklist of known subjects in the Old Judge book?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Ben,
Not all Player's League cards are marked with the PL designation. Some cards, like Comiskey for example, you need to look at the team and his statistics to figure it out. For example, Comiskey's 1890 Player's League card shows him with Chicago, a PL team and he only played with Chicago in 1890, the sole year of the PL.
I own the Goodwin book but can't answer your question as I'm away at school and don't have it with me. It is extremely comprehensive, though, and if a PL checklist doesn't exist, you can easily look up any player, in the book, and see images of all of his cards and do the legwork yourself.
Quan,
You're thinking of the California League cards.

A couple of less than ideal examples. Others have no indication PL on them at all. You have to be aware of the player and team history.
