Time spent searching Ebay for vintage cards?
How much time to you spend scouring all the nooks and crannies of ebay for vintage cards
Typically, how long is your "watch list"
Personally I used to spend alot more time than I do now. I had maybe 20 different odd category searches bookmarked, and I'd check each one every couple of days. More time consuming than it sounds, probably took up to an hour a day.
I still do that from time to time, but I now spend just a fraction of the time that I used to. Maybe that's why I'm not finding the hidden gems anymore - or are they just not out there as much as they were 3-5+ years ago? While my watchlist was often filled with 40-50 active auctions, I'm lucky if I have more than 10-15 now.

about...
1/2 the time i used to a few years ago....not too many bargains out there, most sellers what above market price for BIN and the auctions have just so-so cards.
Although, REA and a few other had great cards but those did not turn out to be bargains...
Also, i think most collectors have cut down their browsing so if a scarce/rare card comes up for sale you have more of a chance to get it.

I donno Mark, I can think of a few deep-pocketed dealers/collectors/investors/entrepreneurs who don't miss a single thing, even in the most obscure categories. Never. Ever.

I search pre-war graded cards when I have some cash, and that is about it.
When I have a little cash, I usually have 5 or 6 cards in my watch list.

I search when ever I have time. Not so long ago I found a M. Brown with Lenox back in the right category, it just didn't have a back scan. It pays to ask for the back scans-really most of the time it doesn't but this time it did.

Much less than before. It seems most dealers are offering prewar cards only in their stores or as BINs, and often at insane prices.
