Negro League piece
Found this rummaging thru some of stuff. I have a bunch of other pieces like this stashed somewhere. During the 80s, I got to know Lou Dials pretty well and got a mailing list of living Negro Leaguers he knew. I sent out a lot requests for stories to people on this list along with check. In the days when you got your checks back from the bank, it was a great way to get a sig because even if they never sent you a response back, they almost always cashed the check. This meant a signature on the back. In the case of "Double Duty" Radcliffe, I have his typical "Double Duty" sig on a photo I sent him, but he signed his check Theodore Radcliffe. A much harder version of his signature to find.
Re: Negro League piece
That's very cool.
I had a baseball signed by 19 members of the Negro Leagues. I sold it in November 2007. I'll see if I can dig up some pics of it. It was awesome.
