e104-3 Nadja
A set that is usually found blank backed. The blue font on the bottom distinguishes them from e92 Nadjas. Cards from this set are very rare and new cards are being discovered all the time. The set is made up mostly of Giants, Phillies and Tigers. Players from the Athletics are in the e104-1 set and the Pirates in the e104-2 set. The following cards are currently known. Any new additions is appreciated.
Abstein - St Louis
Ames - New York
Bates - Philly
Bransfield - Philly
Bridwell - New York
Chase - New York
Crandall - New York
Crawford - Detroit
Delahanty - Detroit
Devlin - New York
Doolan - Philly
Doyle - New York
Grant - Philly
Jacklitshch - Philly
Jennings - Detroit
Jones, D - Detroit
Jones, T - Detroit
Knabe - Philly
McGraw - New York
McIntyre - Detroit
Moore - Philly
Moran - Philly
Moraiarty - Detroit
Mullin - Detroit
Murray - Detroit
Nicholls - Cleveland
O'Leary - Detroit
Schlei - New York
Schmidt - Detroit
Seymore - Philly
Sparks - Philly
Summers - Detroit
Willetts - Detroit
Willis - Detroit
Wiltse - New York
The Magie was uncataloged at the time I acquired as was the Schmidt with a Nadja back. The Wiltse's shown are the only two known examples. I've owned both. The Schmidt is the only one known with a Nadja back. I used to own all these cards and all have Nadja backs

Re: e104-3 Nadja
I don't recall seeing blank backed E104-3's. Can someone confirm that they are in fact more common than the Nadja backed E104-3s?

Just looking at some data on VCP, looks like most of the ones that have sold are the Blank backed variety. Looks like a ratio of about 3:1 (BB to Nadja)
Here's some examples:
Jan 2009 19thcenturyonly Auction Crawford w/Blank Back
1910 E104-III Ed Summers SGC 20
1910 E104-III Jim Delehanty PSA 3
1910 E104-III Larry Doyle SGC 20
1910 E104-III Nadja Cy Seymour (Blank Back) SGC 30
1910 E104-III Nadja Davy Jones SGC 30
1910 E104-III Nadja Sheree Magee SGC 60

Re: e104-3 Nadja
How do they know they are Nadya when they are blank backed?

Many of the poses are unique to the set....so when you see the front you know it's a E104-3
The same can't be said for E104-1/2 which share poses with the E90-2 set if my memory serves me.
Re: e104-3 Nadja
I'm hoping this is a good breakdown.
E90-2 are Pirates only. Front caption is blue, but the back is 100 subjects American Caramel.
E104-1 are A's only. Front caption is blue, back can be found with Nadja or blank back. Across the top on the front it states: "World Champions 1910".
E104-2 are Pirates only. Only found with blank backs.
E104-3 contains multiple teams, but no Pirates. This set does contain A's players though. Found with Nadja or blank back.
Question though. Is the front caption text (for the player name) on E104-1's and E104-3's thicker then the player names on E104-2????

Re: e104-3 Nadja
Eric, a small correction to your summary.
E104-1's can be found with and without the World Champions 1910 caption. The World Champions caption can only be found on the blank backs, not the Nadja backs.
Also, the caption is not always found across the top, it depends on the player.

Re: e104-3 Nadja
Thanks E. I did not know that.
Is it right to assume that players in the E104-1 set are not found in the E104-3 set and that's how you can tell what you have (if you have a Nadja back)?

Re: e104-3 Nadja
here's a current nadja-backed e104 on ebay. i don't think we really care on this board if an auction is outed...especially when it's listed in the correct place and even someone like me can find it.
