Players to Watch
I have noticed a couple of players whose performance appeared to exceed their real life history.
Tom Glavine (of the Riddler'sMB) performed during the Sim season 1 beyond his expectations and beyond the expectations of almost every other pitcher. As far as hitters, Frank Robinson (currently of FieldOfDreams) produced:
with 37 HRs and a league leading 146 RBIs
What players have you noted that we should keep an eye on ?

Re: Players to Watch
The Riddler is trying to weasel out sleeper picks from us. I see Bill Dineen won 17 games.
I was looking through the results and someone must have hit Ed Walsh with a line drive up the middle, he only lasted 5 games.
By the way, Ernie Lombardi really sucked. My team also hit into the most DPs.
Riddler this is for you.

Re: Players to Watch
I think I figured out what happened to Ed Walsh. I was looking at more stats and saw that Carl Mays was at the top of the Hit Batters list, one must have been Ed and finished him off.

Re: Players to Watch
There should be an injury log for the whole. Or maybe that's just available on the sim and isn't published on the website form. I lost Wilbur Wood for 27 games because of injury due to a fight.

Re: Players to Watch
Sim Season 1 saw baseball's top pitchers in wins unable to put together credible seasons for senior HOFers.
Specifically, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Alexander, Mathewson, Galvin, Spahn and Nichols combined to yield a 83-100 won-loss record, with an ERA above 4.00. They also struck out five per contest, while yielding slightly over one home run per game.
Young wound up with a 7-17 season, Johnson managed a 15-12 record, while Alexander carried a 17-25 won-loss statistic. Mathewson was better at 11 and 7, but he was not used as a starter. Galvin, Spahn and Nichols fared no better; finishing 33-39 collectively.
Something to watch. Rather high draft picks are given up for this group.
For that matter Koufax's record for Sim Season 1 was 13-12. Striking out 183 in 207 innings - hardly the numbers one would give up a premium draft selection for.
