Black Friday
I keep hearing about all these deals for Black Friday, but nobody has told me where I can find e107 HOFers on sale! Anybody blowing some out to free up some cash?

Re: Black Friday
I'm right there with you on that one! I'd like to pick up a E107 Waddell sometime. I know, good luck with that
but at least it's one of the "easier" hofers in the set.
The only E107 HOFer blowout I can remember is when Levi Bleam listed a bunch of them on ebay with "buy-it-now's". This was around 2002.
My memory is a bit foggy, but I recall him selling the following E107's, all in fair-vg condition...
Lajoie for $1150
Mcginnity for $550-600ish
Bender for $500ish
Willis for $500ish
Flick for $500ish
And several others. They were all scooped up within a few hours of being listed. E107 prices in 2002 weren't anywhere close to what they are today, but these were all bargains even then. Not too often you hear "Levi Bleam" and "bargain" mentioned in the same sentence, but that was certainly the case that night.
I had no money at the time and passed on all of 'em.

Re: Black Friday
I missed Black Friday as well as Cyber Monday, so no E107 Joss for me.
I remember the "buy it nows" on ebay. In 2001, Don McPherson's near set of E107s was sold in the Lipset auction for less than $70000. Those were the good old days. That group must be worth 8x to 10x that today.

I know, I know, I shouldn't tease....
No it's not currently for sale, but I would trade it for T216's I don't have. And if I do decide to sell, this card seems to have a bit of a following. I have 3 or 4 collectors that have expressed interest if it becomes available.

A near set for $70,000? I wasn't around the vintage realm back then. Who were the heavy hitters that were included as a part of that near set? There are certainly a lot of HOFers in the set. Was Wagner in there? Matty? Delahanty?

Thanks for the playful taunting, Eric. You are a real pal to bring that up in this thread.
In all seriousness, you know where to go to unload that one.
...now where can I find the T-216 trade bait to be able to talk him out of that one.
Once again. a great card.

Re: Black Friday
If I remember the near set correctly, there were no major players missing and all tough variations were there. I thought the set went for under $40k? I may have been quit watching at that point as the backer I had wasn't willing to go past $35k. Oh to have been able to see into the future.

Hey, if we all chip in, we can each own a third of it! I'll keep it at my place safely stored in a collection, but you two may also lay claim to it. Sound like a good deal?
