1912 Schmelzer's Sporting Goods Pins
Has anyone ever seen a Schmelzer's Pin for sale before? I wasn't even aware that they existed until I came across the profile for this set on Old Cardboard last night. Apparently there are only 8 known, Cobb being one.
The backs have "Whitehead & Hoag" written on them, which was a prominent manufacturer of pinbacks and buttons from the 1890's onward (they produced the P2 Sweet Caporal pins for example).
It's a bit of a longshot, but I'd be interested in hearing any info/experiences that people may have had with these rare pins.

REA had quite a few of them in their auction a couple years ago.
Here's a link to the Auction

Re: 1912 Schmelzer's Sporting Goods Pins
Those are cool, although a little expensive (at least the one's in REA). Glad I don't collect pins or they would be high on my want list. I have enough to buy already...
So, nobody here has one to share???
