W600 Matty....likely rebacked?
Did anyone else see this W600 Matty end on ebay yesterday? It wasn't listed in pre-1930's so maybe it flew under the radar a bit. I thought $2150 was a fairly high price to pay for a card that was likely rebacked, but I could be wrong. If you look at the second scan, the darker brown color of the back (w600 backs are creamy colored) and the jagged bottom edge is suggests that it's rebacked. I corresponded with the seller about this and he didn't refute that possibility. I wonder if the buyer was aware of this.
What are your thoughts on the card?

Phil is a pretty smart guy, I'm sure he noticed. I would have gone stronger w/o the re-backing. The seller also had SGC cards for sale so I assume he couldn't get the Matty into a holder?

The underbidder did not know the card was rebacked.
