T205 Matty

At what price should I expect to purchase a T205 Mathewson SGC 40? EBAY listings are all in the $500 to $600 range. Is that high?

Even though the books say they're worth 500$, I feel that is too high of a price. Mathewson has been slowy declining in price in my opinion. I say this because I just purchased an SGC 30 for 240$. However, the book says that a 30/2 is worth 400$. I would say a 40 should cost around 400$.

I needed a Matty up until a few days ago, so you don't have to worry about me competing with you for one as I was looking for one in the SGC30-40 range.

The current crop of Buy it Nows are all $590 to $595. Anyone have any reliable outlets I should check into?

BINs are always high. I will disagree with randy that prices are getting soft on Matty. Both Johnson and Matty seem to going for about the same price. There was a very presentable Johnson last week that I was hoping to get for under $400. I placed a bid over $450 and was only the second underbidder. I had similar experiences with Matty cards where I thought I put in fairly strong bids and wasn't even the first underbidder. At least I don't have to look for the Matty now.

I'd say a decent Matty in an SGC 40 holder will cost you about $450-$500. Maybe even a few bucks more as it is a very desirable card by many.

I agree with what most others have said. Somewhere in the mid-$400 range is what you can reasonably expect to pay for a SGC 40 T205 Matty.

Follow up question: How does the T205 Joss compare to Matty/Johnson price wise?
