WRECKERS OR CHECKERS! 2014 NASCAR....

Another season of NASCAR is here, time to BBQ. Yes, it's snowing, but who cares??? ...Daytona this Sunday.

- The #3 returns to the track, driven by rookie Austin Dillon. I still say NASCAR should retire that number, especially at Daytona.


- The Race for the Chase has yet another new format, 16 drivers make the "playoffs". This is just a ploy to get Danica into the Chase, it will be a miracle if she finishes 16th.
- Bold prediction for the year: Bubba Wallace will win the Camping World Truck Series

Junior wheels it to Daytona win! That reminded me of his father....

Harvick dominates in Phoenix.... but Jeff Gordon may have stolen the show with another prank played on an unsuspecting critic who claimed his first prank was a staged fake. Enjoy.

The consensus at the NASCAR BBQ this weekend was Jeff Gordon's next prank should involve a pizza delivery trainee...

As for the race, Dale Jr. rolls the dice in Vegas, and comes up craps when he runs out of gas on the last lap. Bad Brad K passes Jr. in turn three to win. Jr. does become the first driver since 2006 (Jimmie Johnson) to place in the top two in the seasons first three races. Might be a great year for Junior Nation.

WTF? Two rain delays, ten hours of on again/off again racing; all for some drunk flagger to accidentally trigger the caution lights with two laps to go? OK NASCAR, are you serious? They could not have f-d that up any worse.

It was tedious, even by loyal NASCAR fan standards. I could have BBQ'd a whole pig, but made london broil french dips with provolone instead. Actually had a chance to sleep it off before the race resumed. Overall, the meal was better than the race.

Quote of the week: "I had a better time watching the outhouse races in Conconully." A real event, I'm not joking.

Great race at Martinsville. The event was overshadowed by the passing of the matriarch of NASCAR, Lynda Petty. Flags flown at half-mast in Level Cross, North Carolina....
