John Spalding passed away

Just got word from Mark Macrae that hobby legend John Spalding passed away. Very sad news. He was one of true good guys in the hobby and wealth of information on baseball in general, not just cards. I was made a point to track him down at shows. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of this loss. He truly GAVE to the hobby.

When integrity was the mark of a man John raised the bar.

During my PCL collecting phase a few years ago, I was lucky enough to talk cards with him on a couple of occasions. I found him to be one of the most informative and friendliest guys in the hobby. His books, "Always On Sunday" & "The Pacific Coast Stars", are some the best references you'll find on West Coast baseball. Really sad news. John will be missed.
