yearly giveaway contest: t206 bio book
so i'm done with this and found it to be pretty cool...the stories behind the photos you see from the t206 set.
going to send this away all-expenses paid to anyone interested in reading the book. only requirement is you need to post a scan of something from your CARD collection. if there's only 1 person interested in a couple days, they automatically win
i'll use www.random.org to determine winner.

Here's two for me. I just want to know why you don't ever do these giveaways with your cards...

Quan - I thought it was an e105 Cobb that you never got, not a wagner?

Hey Quan, even though I didn't participate, I wanted to thank you for doing this contest. Very generous of you! Hopefully we can do this kind of stuff more often in the future.

The beer guy demands a recount and takes back his bribe of beer, only tea for you I guess.
Thanks for offering up the book, in a month or so I will offer one up.

actually just trying to keep the positive vibe going. i had commented on the mystery thread about the AWH caramels and the thought that they were reprinted...tim (abravefan) the author was kind enough to contact and send me a copy of the OCB issue.
alot of people still treat this as a hobby and don't need to make a big announcement or take credit when they do something good but they're out there.

Yup Quan, big thumbs up on the thread!
On the subject of books, I am about 3/4 of the way through "Crazy '08"...nicely researched and well-written account of the 1908 season. I find decent books on baseball specific to my interests hard to come by, so I'm loving this one...

I have heard only good things about "Crazy 08", for a modern book Tim Krutchen's "Is this a great game or What" is great bathroom reading.

sucks regardless. not what you want to hear, but i've seen more e105 cobbs than e105 wagner throwings. a lot more.

Quan,
The book arrived on Sat. Thanks again for the extremely nice gesture. I am going to enjoy reading it and sharing it with my son.
