Re: NOVEMBER 2009 Pickup Thread
Great looking cards. The Wagner as a 1 is a great buy, the Johnson T202 is rally nice. If anyone is looking to pick up HOFers cheap the T202 is the best way to go. You can pick up decent looking for around $500.

I second what Lee and Eric said - that Wagner is a beaut, Blair. One of the best looking "1's" you'll ever see. If it was that ebay BIN a week or two ago, then you got a steal!

Hi Ben,
You got it - that is the one! I took a bit of a flyer on a very blurry pic of the card, but I exchanged e-mail with the seller so I got a better idea of what the card was like.

Jim, if you ever decide to sell it, please keep me in mind as I need that card for my Sovereign back subset.

Re: NOVEMBER 2009 Pickup Thread
Thanks guys-I have wanted this card for a long time but everytime I saw one I liked it was too much $$ and not the right back.
I am not a 205 guy but this is a great card and a tough back.
Jay if I ever sell it -you will be the first to know because this one needs a good home not just someone that is going to flip it. I am sure this would get a better grade if reviewed. This is one of the best 2s I have ever seen and a Sovereign back
here ya go Jay

I love those OPC batter-up style cards. So much better looking than theri American counterparts. I probably think that because they are similar to Delongs.

Hi Jay,
Yeah exactly - sort of a cross b/w Delong and the Batter-Ups! I like them too. A scarce set with some important cards (including very early Dimaggio and Bob Feller cards). The Red Sox from this set are pretty much all HOF, including Grove, Foxx, Cronin and Rick Ferrell.

I didn't think I'd win any of the Uncle Jacks in the Goodwin auction last night. Excited to see I won some, including these two:

Great Uncle Jack pickups, King! Great looking examples of HOFers. Congrats!
As for me, I picked up a Voskamp in Goodwin and a 1902 version of McGraw's W600 in Legendary. (McGraw's earliest "obtainable" piece of cardboard since his Alpha Engraving is a 1/1).

Yeah it's interesting to look at, the scanner didn't do it justice. First Keefe. Got it for about $100 less than the last VCP price so I can live with it.
