Gil apparently is suffering with a local problem.
But right now I hit the "Host an Image" Icon, and see a box typical of the image entry box open but the box only contains the message:Error creating user session
Any ideas?

I've noticed the same problem as well, Gil. It appears that Mark didn't have any issues though.

I'll take it up with forum support, and report back here when I find out what's up.

I just tried it, and it seems to work for me if I choose a .jpg file. If I choose a .bmp file, I get an error saying that it can't upload my image.

Maybe a function of the browser you use?

Gil....what browser do you use?

I use Firefox and don't have any problems.

I use the same set up which I've used for years successfully. I believe that the browser is called Microsoft Internet Explorer (if that is a browser). But frankly, I have no idea what a browser is.

I use Firefox and all I get now is an ad for the image server. I have been using photo bucket lately to get images up. Do they want us to register with them?

As much of the message I can read says "Cannot obtain db in"

bmp files can cause problems because they are generally large files and server hosts seem to dislike that format.

As other have suggest, scrap Internet Explorer and download Firefox from Mozilla. A much friendly browser without the possibility of getting viruses etc thru websites. Almost all malicious code is written for IE and the mail reader Outlook Express. If you really want to be as safe as possible on the internet, it is a must to get rid of those two programs.

can still get a virus even if you have firefox but less likely. I got a virus about 6 months ago while i was at a texas hold'em site using firefox. Can't really blame firefox though since it was delivered when i downloaded an app. to play poker.

If you really want to be safe, scrap your PC and buy a Mac. Hardly any viruses are written for Mac, so it's pretty much a non-issue for those users. When my current computer becomes obsolete I'll be switching back to Mac. I owned one from 1982-1999. I switched because you could only play EverQuest on a PC. Mac's windows emulation is really good now and you can pretty much run anything on a Mac that you run on your PC

Scrapping my PC is really what my first step should be. I've regained limited jpg uploading capability by cleaning out my cookies and temp files. I have no idea why after a few years my computers behave as if they are being overworked. I guess that is how they are designed to function.
An Apple is an attractive, but a little frightening option. Other than learning something new, my fears would include compatibility with existing (mainly Word & Excel) files which I have.
Firefox is probably a good idea too.
I'm going to print this response out and have many conversations with myself deciding what to do. Last time I faced this situation with a 4 year old machine, I just bought the latest model. And here I am again. intel inside.
Thanks for your insight and ideas.
If anything more occurs to you, I am quite receptive.
Thank you.

Don't fear having to learn how to use a Mac. Windows is a poor man's ripoff of the Mac operating system. Everything with a Mac is very intuitive and common sense, unlike a lot of how windows works

I was a lifetime PC owner until 3 years ago, when I purchased a macbook. Best decision I've ever made. I've taken my macbook around the world and back...a year in S. Korea, several months backpacking in Europe, and now in the Dominican Republic. Never had a virus, never had a software conflict, not a single problem really. And I've used it fairly heavily for both personal and professional purposes. The wireless internet works great and the interface is really simple and intuitive as Jay said. Only time I had an issue was when my charger cable started to come apart - I brought it to the mac store and they replaced it FREE of charge. I was really impressed by their customer service.

Once you go mac, you never go back! test... 124491
