G&B Gum cards
In reply to Ben's request from another thread. Anyone else have any G&Bs to show?

Re: G&B Gum cards
Gee ..... I sure would like to see a Al Spaulding G&B - his only card.
A .313 hitter with about 2000 ABs. Outfielder, infielder, pitcher (won 253 games: posting a .795 w/l record with Boston NA, and a .800 w/l record with Chicaago, NL)
And wats even better - he made the Spaldeen which we all played wit !
Spaulding Sporting Goods guy.
Did I mention ... his only card? G&B.
But I will settle for any other G&B - you get to see so few of them.

Re: G&B Gum cards
Sweet card Glen, thanks for sharing.
I've seen the Spaulding before. Might not be the most appealing looking card, but it's still right up there with the N172 Anson in uniform, 4BH Kelly, and Just So Cy Young as one of the top 19th century cards in the hobby imo.
Here are a few images found on the net - the O'Rourke sold in a 2006 Mastro auction for $4560 before juice. Don't have any info on the Flint though.

Well I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for but the non-Sports G&B's are even tougher than the Ballplayers. They feature the candidates from the 1888 Presidential Election... I have only actually seen the A. G. Thurman (mine below), and Grover Cleveland.
Obviously this scan is blown up to about 4X actual size...

Glen, which player is shown on your G&B card?

Well Glen, we sure could use a G&B Van Haltren in our gallery of those 19th century cards. I hope that you do not object to us including your image.
