record Skin & Trim Price? Empty record Skin & Trim Price?

I was having email exchanges with Dan about his OJ auctions which most if not all were skinned and trimmed. After about the 5th exchange he sent me a link to this auction. Unbelievable price for a Skinned & Trim. Congrats on the great price Dan.

Amazing price - but for all its obvious faults, the card has a fantastic image quality. More and more, collectors appear to be placing a premium on the quality of the image on Old Judges - in my opinion the most critical aspect of OJ cards...

A VG OJ Delahanty with a strong image is going to run you what....5-7k? Ed is in the upper tier of scarce HOFers in the set (below McPhee and W. Robinson, but not many others imo). Given that, 800 bones for this one doesn't seem that unbelievable to me, even with the skin/trim. Strong price for sure though.

price seemed very reasonable to me, in fact I would have probably bid had I seen the auction.

I imagine not having a Delahanty rookie card can be quite a painful experience. Although I do not collect rookie cards, there are several cards which I am not likely to get. Then again, this past year I obtained several cards that not so long ago I thought .... gee, I will probably never get this, but it sure would be nice (and it is - even nicer than I thought)!

So grabbing an $800 trimmed and skinned (even if you will probably never be able to upgrade it)Smile makes sense, as a possible temporary measure. Is eight hundred dollars too much? No.

And there is something about Old Judges which transcends grading.
