1938 Goudey Proof?

GAI slabbed this card as an "authentic" 1938 Goudey proof (they didn't even spell Goudey correctly). Besides the back, it doesn't look anything like a 1938 Goudey. Also, any proof that I've ever seen has been blank backed. It looks more like a magazine cutout pasted onto a 1935 Goudey back. Does this card seem fishy to you as well, or is it actually legit?

definitely looks like an image was pasted on top of the front of the card.

That one is hard to figure out because it's so Obvious.

Yup. This slab job reflects very poorly on GAI. As if their reputation hasn't taken enough of a beating already over the past year.

I saw these and if you look at the other cards labeled as such, you can see the blue border. It's obviously a cutout pasted over a 1935 Goudey.

Which can be interpreted as an authentic card with paper remnants adhering to the card front (if you accept no moral responsibility to properly describe an attempt at fraud). Come on, GAI: what is your "take" on this grading?

These abominations slabbed by GAI are embarrassing and they should buy them all back and NOT destroy them but soak the garbage fronts off of the real 1935 Goudeys. Just a thought. Dan

I think the guy in HI that slabs paper cutouts as cards wouldn't have trouble identifying those as paper cutouts pasted to cards. May you can get a crossover deal with NASA or whatever name he is using now.
