My only babe. And happy B-day Grandma Fannie!

2 of my all time favorite Ruth cards:
1933 Eclipse Import R337 on the left and the insanely RARE 1932 C.A. Briggs Babe Ruth which was only distributed regionally in the New England Area.

What's not to like about a gorilla in a Yankees uniform?

Jay, I was chewing on a mouthful of pecans when I opened this thread and read your post - now, my computer monitor is covered with sloppy bits and pieces of pecans! But, at least I have now stopped laughing!

You guys are funny! But correct! It is stone Fugly!
I always liked the R337s because they were fairly rare and ugly making them undesirable to most and easy for me to hoard
I have 9 complete sets and 14 total Ruths
When we were robbed at the 1991 Anaheim National Convention, people asked if we could ID any of our cards if they surfaced.
Dad was loaded with pre war cards but they were mostly the main stream stuff like Goudey Ruths
The R337 ruth we lost was probably the most scarce Pre-war card we lost, and I now have 14
I probably have bought back ours
God would I love to know who committed that theft!!!!!

Dan, I'm so very thankful that you don't also hoard WaJo cards, at least not to the extent that you hoard R337s!!
"9 complete sets and 14 total Ruths" just might be the newest definition of card-collecting/card-hoarding insanity! Someone should report this to Wikipedia!!

agreed Val...I'd surmise Dan owns a significant % of the total population of r337's...too bad they're so freakin' ugly!!!!!1

Ha! I can't afford to hoard WaJo's!!!
But I have a serious stack of George C millers I was piling up at the same time as the R337s
I am 1 card away from having to only known uncanceled type II set I believe.
I actually bought the card from gar miller and handed it to dad to show him and never saw it again
It is probably buried in the couch somewhere!

Now I know why I can't get that gorilla card to go with my San Diego Chicken card.
