looking forward to meeting chris, maybe he'll want to do a profile on my nrmt 1989 donruss set. i cheated and bought a large lot but did put the final 420 cards by hand.

I think that there isn't a pot large enough to contain all the corrupt names and stories in the hobby.

However, I'll leave that to someone else. I love this hobby, and if I started surrounding myself in the negative, I fear I won't.

Work sucks, so coming home and talking cards, and writing some good news makes me feel good. Especially when it's about someone I've been friends with in the hobby for years like Lee.

hobby is alot dirtier the deeper you get in and the more you know, which is sad.

That's why I'm very selective about which dealers I closely associate with.

I feel the same, but it's tough because sometimes a dealer you don't like has a card you want or need, and that is that. But it doesn't mean you need to consign with them. That is a lesson I learned the hard way.

It's always good to be vigilant, and there is a lot of corruption in the hobby, but some of the threads across the street are simply vindictive, and often petty. "Let's start a list of bad dealers", "this so-and-so screwed me over", or "this is just a really bad person"..... over a $5 card, it's ridiculous. Many of these threads devolve into hateful exchanges between members who didn't have a dog in the fight to start with.

I'm not one to throw around 1K, let alone 100K, but must say if I was spending that much money I would thoroughly examine the card, dealer or auction house, and holder (if one). If I had any questions.... the vetting process is much easier on FC.
