The Haufbrauhaus pics
Some incriminating photos from the Haufbrauhaus dinner

Guess our photographer took the pic just as I noticed that Pete had a french fry shoved up his nose.
The line up: my wife Mona, me Jay (sabrjay), Chris (BigGuy219), Rich Klein, Pete (ullmandds), Lee (bowlingshoeguy), Jamie (jbonie). Photographer was Jamie's friend Mark.

Lee appears to be distracted during the playing of the National Anthem. Not sure if he's staring at the guy or the girl

My wife talapia that she said was some of the best fish she ever had. Jamie in the background eating his grub.

The dish Chris and I ordered, the Haufbrauhaus Platte. It included a sausage, smoked pork chop, roasted pork loin, mashed potatoes and saurkraut. The best restaurant meal I've eaten in a long time. Possibly ever. The pork loin melted in your mouth, the pork chop had the most amazing flavor and beautifully smoked and mashed potatoes didn't taste like they came from a box and had a dark beer gravvy that tasted great. Sadly, the saurkraut wasn't that great, but it certainly wasn't bad.

The very cool Alpine Horn.

For those of you who didn't attend, I drank two of those liters of beers. Good times.

Jay, you and Lee look completely different than I imagined. For some reason I thought you'd be a couple of metal guys with long hair.

I used to have long hair down to about the bottom of shoulder blades. I'm still very much a hippie that traces his punk roots back to the very early 80s. That's about as metal as I get, although I do like AC/DC and Rob Zombie.

i guess lee got that tattoo removal on his face after he became a successful auction owner.

The Hofbrauhaus Platte definitely lived up to expectations. The pretzel (which I read is flown in daily from Munich) was also fantastic.
Terrific atmosphere.

Looks like a great time, lots of smiles, and props to Pete for his portrayal of a one tusk walrus. Photos are being formatted for Post Office Wanted Posters.
Sounds like raves for Haufbrauhaus, good eats and atmosphere, and must say that's a freaking beer Chris. Obviously no New York-like beverage size limits in Chicago.
Maybe next year gents.

Ty, that's barley pop, not soda pop, so no limits. I had one. That was enough for me. I had a hard cider ale later in the night that kicked my ass.
Re: The Haufbrauhaus pics
was chris celebrating a big purchase with those beers?
edit: whoops i should've browsed the PU thread first!

It was an awesome dinner at the haufbrauhaus ...lots of entertainment. It was great to meet and hang with Rich, Chris and Jamie and Mike...as well as the Behrens boys and Mona.
Had a blast at Toby Keith's afterwards too!

"Come out to the coast. We'll get together. We'll have a few laughs."
Let's just hope I don't throw Q off the top of Nakatomi Plaza.
