Re: New Year Pick-Ups
At the risk of making Peter ill at the sight of another T206, I offer the following example. I had been looking for the right one for almost two years.
My sincere gratitude is extended to PSA forum member thenavarro who sadly is liquidating his extensive signed card collection, but also afforded me the opportunity to acquire this card. What I like best about this card is the bold signature.

Thanks guys. I'm glad to see you guys posting...for a moment there I thought I saw a tumbleweed drift by. Ben asked a nice, debate-worthy question the other day that just kind of fizzled. I was disappointed to see that because I know there are a lot of knowledgeable collectors that are members of this forum. PM sent Quan.

super card mr. seablaster even better now that i know what you paid for it . i've been so busy and my collecting interest these days don't really jive with the board. can you believe i'm selling prewars to collect modern cards? the insanity, still trying to wrap my head around that.
i did just get blown away coming in 3rd on that wacky e95 plank/cicotte miscut

Re: New Year Pick-Ups
Rube seems to be a more common signed T206 as he lived so long...and I've seen many different configurations...signed lengthwise...on the back...I like the way he signed yours!!!!

I agree. The signature can really make or break the card. There was a post on N54 a long time ago asking members to post their favorite commons. A member stated that this Goudey card was his favorite due to its similarity to the ending father/son scene in Field of Dreams. I really like the movie and after reading his post, I wanted the Richards card. Since the card is so common, I thought it would make it more interesting to acquire a signed example. With the aid of N54 member milkit1, I found this nice card. I think Richards did the collector a service by signing it vertically.
To keep my post on topic I offer the following E105 Danny Murphy:

My most recent pick-up. Every once in a while something shows up in such craptastic condition that I just have to have it. This cabinet photo reminds me of a dog at the pound. What can you do? You gotta try & save it, right?

WOW, even in that shape, that's a fantastic image of Delahanty!! Any idea what it said on the mount? Any graphics on the back? Where the heck did you find that?!
Re: New Year Pick-Ups
Thanks Ben. I'm still trying to figure out who the photographer was. There isn't any photographer's ID on the back. I can see a small bit of print on the front, underneath the photo, that might ID the photographer. Other than that, I'm lost. I bought it in the last Legendary auction.

Re: New Year Pick-Ups
According to Legendary, this came from the Delahanty family. I've yet to see any proof of that.

Regardless of condition, it is a very cool cabinet. Especially if it came from the Delahanty family. Wow.

Thanks jbonie. I think we both agree that the 19th century items are the most interesting.
I appreciate all eras of baseball, but love the 19th century.
