Who signed the most?
Which players do you think signed the most baseball cards? Not baseballs, bats, or anything else, just cards?
most know Feller signed a ton, who else?

Re: Who signed the most?
Compared to his contemporaries, I certainly think there are "a lot" signed by Rube Marquard.

Feller had a big head start on Rose. I think those guys are probably 1 and 2 though.

Re: Who signed the most?
When I did shows in the 80s we used to joke that unsigned Feller material was more valuable than things he signed.
Re: Who signed the most?
Ok so Feller, Rose, Reggie....
Would definitely think Mantle, Williams, and Mays would make the list.

Heard the same thing back then. He and Cowboy were always at shows...

marquard signed a ton of stuff, but mostly index cards and not cards like feller (sisler also big pre-war signer). i'd think musial also has signed alot, and he's still alive. also see alot of brooks robinson and ernie banks.

Mantle and DiMaggio are up there. Joe D didn't do a lot of shows but did a ton of private signings. Mantle was at just about every major show during the mid to late 80s
Re: Who signed the most?
One time at a show in Wisconsin, a dealer in his later 50's showed me his T206 signed Ginger Beaumont. The best part was, Beaumont was his dentist when he was a little kid! I'm sure signed T206's are rare...

Re: Who signed the most?
It feels like every auction catalog I receive contains a plethora of Babe Ruth signed baseballs.
But I can't recall the last time I saw a card signed by Ruth.
Does anyone find it odd that someone who was willing to sign so many autographs, by comparison, seems to have so few signed cards?

signed cards are usually from fans sending them in ttm or presented to the player in person. ruth didn't live long enough for alot of ttm or even the gpc of the 50's like cobb/wagner/lajoie/young etc so you're left with a ton of his balls and photos that he did sign.

It makes me mad when I seen a "swell", "nabisco", "pacific" or another one of those worthless cards from the 80's signed by a huge hof legend. What a waste!
