Getting a lot of consignment requests lately

As the title says, I've been getting my fair share of requests to consign items from auction houses lately. I've noticed it becoming more and more frequent, with today bringing the added surprise of letter in the 'real' mail asking me to consign.

Is this "normal" or are the houses having trouble getting people to consign?

The E-mails I usually just delete without reading, but I tell you I was surprised that they spent the money (small amount as it is) to send me a formal letter requesting consignments.

I confess a certain amount of ignorance here; I'm assuming when you say people want you to consign, that means you give them your stuff to sell? Not vice versa?

I've gotten the occasional e-mail from ebay sellers that I've bought a lot from, but they seem very general. Like, I'm getting the same thing everbody else who buys from them gets. Never had anyone send me a letter, though, and never had anyone personally address anything to me.

Take it as a compliment! Clearly, your collection is developing a reputation.

yup i got the same heritage letter. kinda ironic as i could never buy anything from them because with the tax i'm basically paying an extra 8% juice than anybody else.
