to hell with drill, baby, drill. I say "brew, baby, brew" Sounds like a winning combo, your home brew and my BBQ. Guess the party is at my place.
Re: Spring get together
We talked about getting together for a Twins game this summer. Well I have six seats in Row 1 for the August 12 game. At this time 4 seats are spoken for in Pete, Hanksta, Jay, and Myself. IT would be great if we could get 2 more board members to join us.
Let me know if you can make it.

Crap, I can't make the 12th for the game! Pete's left cheek can take my seat...
Re: Spring get together
Work has agreed to allow me time off, but unfortunately not enough to make it to Minnesota. I have NINE days (May 15-24), or SIX days (June 4-10). I am VERY disappointed I will not be able to make it to a gathering.
Since the idea was to drive from Eburg-Seattle-Oakland-Chicago-St. Paul-Eburg. I cannot finish this trip in only nine days, especially due to research needed to be done in towns along the way. Many of these stops have libraries, museums, or preservation societies open only certain days/hours of the week etc., and scheduling conflicts with crucial individuals to be interviewed along the way make things more difficult. I will probably stop short in Reno and head northwest, home. Very sorry. Ty

Likewise... really thought they (my job) would allow me the time needed to complete my project. Not to pleased with those in charge. They pretty much said I could go, but needed to be back to sub for THEM over the Memorial Day weekend.
Will be sharing interviews/photos/articles HERE on the Full Count Board. Hopefully we can discuss the best way to do so over the next month. I'm sure a good time will be had by all, especially at the game on the 12th.
Maybe the National...

Re: Spring get together
There will definitely be something planned. I won't be there but Lee will as well other board members. What is planned is still in the planning stages.
I still say MN guys should get together soon even without Ty makign his way out here. My grill/smoker needs a good workout so I am game to host a get together.

Re: Spring get together
how many people successfully buy cards at the nat'l? and was there a big premium paid? the last nat'l in anaheim really soured me. not like 8-9 years ago when card prices were inline with ebay so bringing 3k is not enough and you can see cool people like elliot and jay's really tall kid.
i went to a frank & son warehouse show last week to see psa (held every other month) and they were selling everything from pokemon cards to toys and honestly they had about as much card content as the last couple "baseball" card shows i've went to. i also had alot more fun.

My big score last national was the Grove Delong in PSA AUTH holder I bought for $40, cracked out and submitted to SGC and came back with a 40 grade. The SGC guy said it would have gotten an 80 but it had pencil erasures on the back.
There are deals to be found. You just have to do a lot of looking.

Re: Spring get together
I'm thinking the MN crowd needs to get together the first weekend of June. I'll feed you guys wings with my new Ghostly Goodness ghost pepper wing sauce. You just have to bring your beverage of choice.
I had my first market this past Thursday and debuted the sauce and it was a hit. People would be scared hearing that it was made with the hottest pepper in the world but I had a couple girls that were about 10 years old that loved and used them to shame the adults into trying it. I'd also tell them that there was no way I would let kids try the sauce if it was painfully hot.
I had never used it before so my big worry was that it would overpower anything you put it in, but actually has a really nice lemon-orange citrus smell and taste to it. The sauce has some kick to it but it doesn't make you running screaming to fridge looking for ice cold milk.

Re: Spring get together
Jay contact me about the gathering. I have some peach and apricot wood from down south I use for smoking as well as a contact for some old growth cherry and old growth hickory here. That stuff smokes so smooth its crazy. Nothing like that overbearing smoke you get from resturants that you can taste the next day
The fruit wood is almost impossible to get up here I found. Let me know as I would love to donate some smoking wood for the feast and maybe some other stuff.

Cherry wood sounds great. I know what you mean about good fruit wood being hard to find around here. I use Mojobricks for smoking. Pure wood fiber that doesn't leave any creosote and almost no ash. I had gotten some maple wood from a coworker but it had a really acrid taste, so not sure what was wrong with it and burned it all in the fire pit which made the wife really happy since she loves fires.
