D303 - AUTHENTIC or FAKE
D303 Cobb - was it authentic?
A few board members were discussing THIS D303 Cobb (mislabeled as e90-1) that ended yesterday @ $438. Normally most of us would reject a card in a ASA holder outrightly as crap, but this one looked pretty good.

i was underbidder, and i'm still confused. obv i wasn't confident enough to go higher. if i had Jamie or Pete money i'd gamble more...or Wonka i'd be all in all the way...alas Q$ doesn't stretch as far!
if we could see the card in person i'm sure we can make a better judgement. as is i was prepared to buy it dirt cheap and fight with my cc if something was wrong. there are many red flags, but also some scenarios that the card could be legit. i'm cautiously congratulating the buyer.
p.s. i checked out his other auctions to get a feel if he's selling legit cards, but they were all postwar issues that i'm not familiar with...and they were mantles and gordie howes...from an estate sale. fwiw...

Ayyy good call Brian. That pretty much leaves no doubt, right? Good thing you held off from going higher Quan.

Could this be the same card cleaned up and crossed over to get the better grade? The back has obviously been cleaned up. Really weird the whole deal.

As I said in the other thread, the card looked familiar. Good job by Brian finding the previous auction. Lee, don't think that is possible as he "bought" it in an "estate" sale.
