Is VG/EX the Best Buy for the Dollar?
As most of you know I have bought many T-202s and T-206s. I have have tried to keep my collections are VG/EX but have bought all grades. I really feel that the VG/EX prices get you the best card for the dollar. I have been pursuing Cycle 460 alot lately, the Good ones go for around $80, but yet I can pick up VG/Ex at $125. Even regular commons in Good go for $30 but you can pick up VG/EX for $45-$50.

the last Baltimore Cycle PSA 4 on ebay was Slagle-it ended at $255. Is it just the Baltimores that go that high?

Yeah I def think that grade 4 is a sweet spot. There are still some crap ones but it's generally nice enough in that grade to present well.

I think it's true for t206's. You don't save a lot of $$ going down in grade and it pretty much doubles to go up to a 5.

That goes for most variations of pre-WW2 cards. I have been trying to assemble the w514 set for a couple years. While I can get a common SGC 40 for $18-$30, a SGC 50 goes for at least $40 and a (rare) SGC 60 goes for $50-$80. The only variations of this set that should be purchased below VG are; #71 Dilhoefer, #78 Watson (only cards), HOF'ers (for a reasonable price), and #1 Flagstead, #120 Barnes (book ends) for those set hunters

I agree...if all of my cards in my collection were vg/vg-ex...I'd be quite happy. I only feel the need to go ex or better on more current cards...50's-present.
