Re: June Pickups
also a real shame but i had to return the card below. check links for the back pics. i know back side of OJs are not as important but can you really call it a 50? description did not mention anything about it so i was a bit taken back.
big scans so i don't wanna link it:

Re: June Pickups
Quan, To Bad about the Big Ed, I know it's a card you wanted
I have seen SGC 50's lately with paperloss on the back.
They must being getting more lenient.
If the corners and front look better than a 4, then something is up with the back.

Re: June Pickups
It looks like that Big Ed was graded a while ago - based on the slab. Since it doesn't even have the "4" beneath the 50, that dates it a bit, so I doubt this one is a case of them becoming more lenient.
I think I too would be disappointed to see that back on a 50 card.

Re: June Pickups
i accounted for the older label and it was still underwhelming. supposedly graded over 10 years ago.

Re: June Pickups
I have yet to post my awesome June pickups. But the rest of my "pickups" have shipped and should be here on Monday or Tuesday. Problem is.....I work late every day next week and won't be able to pick up my package until Saturday July 3rd. So I guess my June pickups will be July pickups, and I'll start it out with a bang. I will say this....it has been my best month EVER, for my particular interest!

Re: June Pickups
Almost forgot. How rude of me by the way. June has been a very nice month for the board. Awesome pickup guys. Congrats to everyone!
Quan....sorry the Big Ed purchase didn't work out for you. That would have been a wonderful card to add.
Blair.....way to keep chugging along on your Dockman set. How far along are you? What toughies do you have left? How many HOFers are in the set (I know I can look it up, but I'm lazy and I figured you'd know right off the top of your head)?

Hi Eric - thanks!
I now have 28/40. The HOF I still need are: Honus (batting), Matty, and Hughie Jennings. By my quick count the HOF cards in the set total 11 (and Hal Chase commands a significant premium too).

Nice! Only 12 more to go! I guess without looking I didn't realize that there were 40 cards in the set. Definitely an achievable number. Again congrats, and all of the one's you've picked up look fantastic!
