Re: May pickups
Been trying to acquire a M116 Wood for around 5 years now. It's got a "P" written on it but otherwise it's absolutely beautiful.

Re: May pickups
Wood is one of the toughest cards in the set, so I would certainly be happy with it. There's always hope that you will be able to find an affordable upgrade in the future.
Re: May pickups
Great pickup Mark, bet it feels pretty good crossing that one off the list. I don't notice the "P" as much as I do the crisp clean corners and borders. The last time I saw a M116 Wood on ebay was an autographed trimmed one years ago...recall thinking that one was a bargain. Super tough card.
Re: May pickups
Mark , Congrats on the M116 Wood. The image is stunning.
This one and the Speaker are my favorites from this set.
I'll probally never have either one but stranger things have happened.

Re: May pickups
Didn't we have a relative Zinn Beck posting here some time ago looking for his cards?
Re: May pickups
love the sisler...one of my fav players and very underrated hof'er imo.
i forgot todd can you get him with a "Pitcher" on the SN back? it probably doesn't make a big diff between 1b/P but i always thought the P was cool.

Quan,
I agree about the Sisler being a cool card of a cool player. Sadly, no TSN ad back for him as a pitcher--that is confined to m101-5, and TSN is m101-4 only.
Jay, member JohnV was looking for a card to go with his Zinn Beck made bat, as I recall. I think he was from the same town, but not a relative.
I've been lucky to have acquired a couple more in the last B&L auction (guess you could say I was Leon Lucky )

I think as long as there's no paper loss, pinhole or tear (I don't see any), it should be a 20. Always liked that card!

Awesome Sisler!
I really like the Waddell too and I think it would get a 20 for sure.

Re: May pickups
Hey Guys,
My final pickup for May is prewar - but nonsports. If anybody cares about NS, I traded a T206 for 16 1936 G-Men and Heroes of the Law SGC graded cards. I now have the highest graded registered "start" to the set on SGC's registry!! WOO HOO! lol. Just thought I would share

Re: May pickups
If you want, go ahead post them in the Bull Pen area. I always enjoy seeing pre-war nonsports cards.
