t216 Peoples Tobacco 1914
t216s were issued by Louisiana's Peoples Tobacco with the following backs, Kotton, Mino and Virginia Extra. Kotton is the most common with Mino and VE backs commanding roughly twice the price of a Kotton back. Cards can also be found on two different stock types. One a standard type stock with a glosy front and the other a thin stock that is not glossy. The thn stocker version is harder to find carries premium of about 15-25%. Pictures that are used are the same as many caramel issues of that time.

T216 People's Tobacco KOTTON Glossy
KOTTON Back Type 1 w/glossy front.. The glossy fronts are very susceptible to cracking and spider creases.

Re: t216 Peoples Tobacco 1914
Virginia Extra cards are almost always found in very low grade (as evidenced by Jay's scan - lol). Hard to say whether this is because of the how they were packaged/distributed, or whether it's due to the condition sensitivity of the card stock itself. Likely a combination of both. Either way, VE's are incredibly difficult to find in anything above "gd" condition.
T216 Kotton back Type 3 Thin stock.
This Cy Young card has a Kotton back and is the more desireable Type 3 thin stock.

Re: t216 Peoples Tobacco 1914
Some additional important information about the T216 set.
There are a total of 36 HOFers fronts and variations in the set out of a possible 104 different cards.
Complete HOFer set: 36/104 = 34.6% (this includes all print/caption differences in the set)
Now, if you are only concerned about the different player images and don't care for the print/caption variations, the total number of images used is different. Then you're looking at 22 different HOFer fronts, instead of 36. And if you apply this same criteria to all the the cards in the set, the total number of different player fronts drops from 104 to 73 (taking out the print/cation differences in the entire set).
Your HOFers will then look like this: 22/73 = 30.1% (if print/caption differences on the same cards are removed)
