Here's a vintage photo composite of one of the first professional teams that Lipman Pike played on, if not the first.
It was the first year of the newly created National Association

The 1871 Troy Haymakers.
He was listed as a RF in a program that I have.
The foto and information is from an old Hunt auction.
I hope this helps.

Nice. The bio for him in the old SABR book Nineteenth Century Stars only has a line drawing of him. I assume this means that there wasn't a known photo of him at the time it was published back in the late 80s.

Jay, there are probably more photos, and CDV's of ball players & teams waiting to be seen than we know about.

BTW, do you, or anyone on this board know who wanted to see a Pike image?
