Hello To The Board
I'm an occasional poster over at Net54 and found my way over here through a link on Kevin Saucier's site. Looks like you guys have a great board going and I see many familiar names - hope I can add a little something to the mix here.
A little about myself...my name is Greg Ecklund - I'm 28 years old and have been collecting vintage on and off since I was 12. I started with T206 like many seem to, but as I learned more my interests quickly gravitated toward more obscure and tougher sets. I'm a set collector who hasn't finished one yet, but I have managed to make great progress on BF2 (80 of 97), T3 (60 of 100), and Worch Cigar (42 different). I hope to finish the BF2 set in the next year if I can just find the ones that I'm missing...they don't seem to come up often.
Anyway...enough about me...just wanted to say hello to everyone and add what I can when my knowledge lets me make a meaningful contribution.

Welcome Greg !
Your name sounds familiar. Are you an OBCer? Or do you have other affiliations which I may have stumbled upon?

Welcome, Greg.
I think you will find this board to be quite informative and refreshingly civil. Again, welcome!

Welcome Aboard Greg
I looked at your collection and it is very nice. I especially like your BF2's.
I seldom see many for sale outside of the occasional one, so I can imagine how rewarding it has been to put that many nice ones together.
Regards
Jerry

Re: Hello To The Board
Welcome Greg, I would be interested in more information and scans on the Worch Cigars. There is a category that you can start a thread for the set. I have heard of it and almost won a Gehrig once, seen a few other cards but always curious about more info. Was this a St. Paul company?
This site has many nice features not available on Net54, play around and enjoy,

Welcome Greg! Glad to have you aboard.
I'll second what Lee said - I'd be interested in hearing about your Worch Cigars; 42 different is an impressive number! Feel free to start a thread about the set. They're great looking cards.
See you around,
Ben

Re: Hello To The Board
I just finished reading "Mint Condition, How Baseball Cards Became an American Obsession" by Dave Jamieson. There's a whole chapter on Kevin and his work. That's how I found Kevin's site and the link on his site led me here.Gecklund311 wrote:found my way over here through a link on Kevin Saucier's site.
