1922 E121 Ruth & 1911 T205 MCCraw - Appreciate Info
Hi - I am looking to sell these two cards (recently back from SGC - my first experience grading with SGC) - I would appreciate receiving opinions as to the value of these two cards and would also appreciate receiving opinions on whether it is best to list them on B/S/T or on ebay (auction or BIN) to get the best return - Thank you in advance.

I would probably start with the BST so you can set your price, and not have to settle for less than what you want. Ebay would be a decent second option, albeit a riskier one; with the recession, lots of nice cards are going for a fraction of what they would have a year ago or less. So depending on your expectations, you might be disappointed with the results.

Hi Pete....
Glad to see you joined Full Count...
I checked prices, Your Ruth is a desirable card. I would ask $400-$500.
I am sure other members will give their opinion on McGraw.

2nd Question
Hi - Thank you everyone for the replies - I just checked the population reports - PSA has only graded 13 of these cards in total - ruth holding ball & SGC has only graded 3 - There are only 16 totsl graded cards of this card - I know it is beat up bad, hoever do you no think itmay be worth a little more than $500 - there doe snot appear to be too many of them at all so far and al ot of them were graded A or 1. Thank you again for additonal opinions!

poulation reports are not a good barometer of true rarity. Cards get resubmitted and many collectors do get their cards slabbed unless they are going to resell them.
Given the condition, $400-600 is about right for the Ruth card. The heavy paper loss really kills the value.

Wishful thinking in my opinion. I thought the $500 estimate was fairly accurate, even a bit generous given the severity of the paper loss. Population reports aren't a reliable determination of scarcity. An E121 Ruth is a desirable card for many collectors, but by it's not really a tough one to find. There are no doubt many raw (ungraded) versions of that card out there which the pop reports don't account for.pwilk17 wrote:There are only 16 totsl graded cards of this card - I know it is beat up bad, however do you no think it may be worth a little more than $500.

Pete...
If you need the cash then sell both at a little higher than we said and you can always come down a bit.
My opinion....keep the Ruth till next year and see if prices come back. It all depends on the need for cash these days.

That is unfortunate that the t205 has a lot of paper loss on the back. Otherwise, it might grade a 4 or a 5. But since it is a grade of 1, it is only worth around $50.

bad time to sell the ruth card imo. last year those 1920's caramel ruths were really hot, you could've prolly sold them for $700-$800...this year around half that sounds about right, of course you never know until you put it up. like the guy talking real fast and low at the end of the commercial say: "past performance does not guarantee future results..."
