Do you buy cards without seeing a back scan?

Right now, my biggest pet peeve is the lack of back scans for cards people are trying to sell. Does anyone actually buy a card without seeing a scan of the back first, even if nit is slabbed? I know I don't.

As a seller, I would think that they would eventually get tired of requests for back scansbut apparently I must be in the minority in wanting beack scans because a lot of major sellers on eBay don't put back scans in their auctions.

If I know/trust the seller and they give a description of the back, I'd buy it without seeing the back scan (or at least commit to it pending scan).

If there's a card REALLY want with an extremely low buy it now price, I might pull the trigger without seeing the back scan. We know great BIN's don't last long on ebay, and it would be a missed opportunity if I didn't strike quickly.

In all other cases, I'd request a back scan before committing to purchase.

Written descriptions are OK, but that's so much work compared to just scanning it. The rare times I write a description of a back is like the t206 Egan I have up right now. The card has a minute hairline wrinkle that doesn't show up in the scan, so I mention it in the description.

I will buy without a back scan but generally will email for a back scan. I am really Leary for backs of T202 PSA graded cards, it seems they do not look at the back when grading. It does bother me also when they say there is something different on the back but do not give you a scan.

Overall it sure saves alot of time and hassle if there is a back scan.

Back scans Empty NO....

if the seller can list a front scan then why not the back. I know it cost $ on ebay to list more pics but they can just email me scan. If i wanted to sell a card bad enough i would send 100 scans if they want.

If you are a full time seller on eBay, then you should have a hosting service for photos. If nothing else, use photobucket. It's free. That's what I use and I can list all the pics I want on eBay at no extra cost.

It depends on the card. Some sets include text descriptions of the player and his accomplishments to the date of issue. This feature is an important part of the card for me.
If the back says something like "Piedmont" it is far less significant, and actually no more significant than if the back was blank (because to me, it is).

as a buyer i generally would like a back scan, unless it's from someone i've known for awhile...then "clean back nothing wrong no crease" etc is fine i will take their words for it. even if there's front/back scans i usually will ask the seller if there's something i'm missing and how he would grade the card.

as a seller sometimes i only scan card fronts Smile because i'm lazy and i would usually go "clean back no paper loss" or "some soiling caramel staining" and email me if ur serious for back scans.
