Re: October 2008 Pickups
Nice card Dave...I've always liked the Lections, I also owned a Frisch once that was pretty beat up that I bought on eBay for next to nothing.
I think this one was target practice...or overly canceled.

Re: October 2008 Pickups
I've seen that Hornsby Lection up for a lot. I get the feeling it's basically a filler for type collectors until they can find a better one. I like beaters and Hornsby is one of my favorite players, but there is no way I would pay $200+ for that card, no matter how rare it is.

I actually owned that Lections Hornsby myself at one point. I don't think anyone can stand looking at it for too long, which explains why it's been passed around so much. I sold it for $125ish if I remember correctly.
Re: October 2008 Pickups
Yeah that seems like alot for the Hornsby. Makes me feel pretty good with what I paid for the Fritsch SGC 30 anyway.

ncie looking 50. Is there back problems or a hairline crease we can't see?

This may actually be the first T207 I've ever bought, period as far as I can remember.

Dave, you got a bargain on that Weaver. I was totally planning on bidding, but got caught up in some work and fell asleep at the wheel.

Hi Jay,
Nope - this one is real nice - worst things you could say about it are centering and a little chipping on the top edge left of center. The back is real clean and complete.
Cheers,

Damn Jim, nice pick up. Did the purchase slide through as a black back or did you have to pay a premium for it?

Re: October 2008 Pickups
Eric-thanks
Lee- the collector I got it from knew what he had, it killed me to give up my rare backs.
That back gives me 37 different T206 backs. There was one (BOM)at the Reading show that had some writing on it with a 4k tag. I almost went for that one because you just don't see these come up for sale or trade. One month after Reading this one came up and a few rare backs later it is mine!
I don't count the bar Old Mill as a T206 back-I think it is an error back -a Sweet Cap bar stamped on an Old Mill south back.
I have type 1 Coupon and type 1 Red Cross, so I think I am complete. But that is just my opinion and I am sure other collectors feel different.
